KUCHING: Three persons were arrested for being involved in online gambling activities on Monday (Feb 8).
Padawan district police chief Supt Aidil Bolhassan, when contacted, said the raid was carried out by a task force team of Padawan district police headquarters from 2.30pm to 4.20pm.
The team raided three premises — a convenience store and two eateries — at Jalan Matang here.
“The individuals, two men and a woman, aged between 19 and 23, were inspected.
“Among the items seized were three smartphones, RM514 cash and three pieces of paper with numbers written on it,” he said.
Aidil added that the detainees and the seized items were taken to the police station for further action.
He said the individuals will be remanded to facilitate further investigations into the case under Section 4(1)(c) Common Gaming House Act 1953.
