Three nabbed over alleged involvement in drug

MIRI: Three local men were nabbed on suspicion of being involved in drug distribution at 11.50am here yesterday.

Miri OCPD ACP Alexson Naga Chabu said a team from the Narcotic Criminal Investigation Department (NCID) raided a hut near a residential area and found packets of small plastics, which were believed to contain drugs.

“It (drug) weighs 62.17 grams and is estimated worth around RM6,200,” he said.

He said the team also seized other items including a vehicle worth RM40,000 and cash amounting RM6,537.

Alexson said the case is being investigated under Section 39B of the Dangerous Drug Act 1952.

Police advised members of the public to lodge an alert the police at the nearest station on suspected drug abuse activities.
