KUCHING: Three Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) elected representatives were absent on the first day of the 19th Sarawak State Legislative Assembly (DUN) sitting for the first term on Monday due to quarantine order.

Announcing it, DUN speaker Tan Sri Datuk Amar Mohd Asfia Awang Nassar said they were state assemblyman for Kuala Rajang Datuk Len Talif Salleh, Datuk Seri Huang Tiong Sii (Repok) and Datuk Sebastian Ting Chiew Yew (Piasau).

“I have granted leave of absent under Standing Order 81 to Datuk Len Talif Salleh, assistant minister for Urban Planning, Land Administration and Environment and to Datuk Seri Huang Tiong Sii, honourable member for N45 Repok for the whole sitting.

“And Datuk Sebastian Ting Chiew Yew, assistant minister for Tourism for today and tomorrow as they are currently under quarantine,” he said during his proclamation after the swearing in of elected representative ceremony took place.
