BINTULU: There are still a handful of people who are stubborn and disobey the conditional movement control order (CMCO) standard operating procedures (SOPs) by leaving their homes after 8pm without reasonable excuse.

Due to the SOP violations, three men were each fined RM1,500 for offences under the Regulation 19 (1) of the Prevention and Control of Infectious Diseases Regulations (No. 4) 2021 last Saturday (May 8).

Bintulu police chief Supt Zulkipli Suhaili said a patrol team conducted CMCO SOP compliance monitoring around Sungai Plan from 9.30 o’clock onwards that night.

The team spotted three men outside their houses in the area and detained them.

He stressed that the police would continue to intensify monitoring and patrols to ensure that the community continue to comply with the CMCO SOPs in an effort to break the Covid-19 chain for the welfare of the people of Bintulu.
