KUCHING: Three reckless teenagers were arrested last Sunday (Aug 21) for pulling motorbike stunts at Masja, Petra Jaya here.
The trio, aged 17 and 18, were taken to the Kuching police headquarters following an operation codenamed Op Samseng Jalanan mounted by 23 policemen from 5pm to 1am.
Kuching OCPD ACP Ahsmon Bajah said the teens would be investigated under Section 42(1) of the Road Transport Act, 1987. “If convicted, they are looking at a fine of up to RM15,000 or a prison term of up to five years.”
He added that police also confiscated 45 motorcycles during the operation.
Some 112 individuals and 103 motorcycles were checked and a total of 158 traffic summonses were issued for various offences.
