ASAJAYA: Following active case detection (ACD) by health authorities at Kampung Sadong Jaya Laut here on Monday (July 5), three people tested positive for Covid-19.

Sarawak Public Communications Unit (Ukas) reported on Tuesday (July 6) that 717 villagers placed under enhanced movement control order (EMCO) had undergone swab tests at the Datuk Patinggi Haji Abdul Rahman Yaakub Hall.

Three tested positive for the virus while 23 are still waiting for their results.

The Samarahan Divisional Disaster Management Committee reminded the villagers to always adhere to  standard operating procedures (SOPs) to curb the spread of Covid-19.

Meanwhile, 320 people from Kampung Kaman Krokong in Bau were swabbed during an ACD operation on Tuesday.

The operation was conducted by the Bau District Health Office from 8am to 10.30am at the Kampung Kaman Hall.

Bau District health officer Dr Linda Lu said of the 320 people screened, 152 of them were male, and 168 were female.

She said the operation involved 23 staff from Bau District Health Office while the rest were from the Kuching lab.

Also assisting in the ACD were members of the Malaysian Civil Defence Force and People’s Volunteer Corps.
