Dennis watching the grand launching of TVS at Long Lama town.

KUCHING: The newly launched TVS, Sarawak’s very owe television station, was well received and given the thumbs-up by the rural community of Sarawak, especially in the Telang Usan constituency.

Telang Usan assemblyman Dennis Ngau who was visiting to several longhouses in his constituency, managed to watch the grand launching of TVS which was broadcasted live with some of the locals at Long Lama town last Sunday.

“Generally, the rural folk were very appreciative of the initiative of Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg and the Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) government to have our own TV station.

“The launching of TVS created history for the state and the country. Apart from providing viewers with entertainment, the latest news, and meaningful programmes, it will also create employment opportunities for talented Sarawakians,” he said in a statement on Monday (Oct 12).

He added this proves yet again that what Abang Johari promised when he took over the helm of the state government, he will deliver.

“Therefore, I urge the people in Telang Usan to look at this new achievement by the state to further strengthen confidence in Abang Johari’s leadership,” he said.

He also said that the future is good in the hands of Abang Johari and GPS.

“The generally improved economic of the rural folk enables them to subscribe to Astro, allowing almost every family access to various television programmes.”
