MUKAH: “Glow in the dark” road technology that reflects light in the dark is helping road users, especially at night.

With this technology, it also makes it easier for visually impaired drivers who rely entirely on road markings while driving at night.

New Sarawak Tribune interviewed several members of the public about this technology which will be introduced in Sarawak soon..

This technology is very important for rural residents, especially for areas with limited access to electricity. This technology can also save electricity costs as there is no need to spend a lot on installing streetlights. I also believe that this technology can help reduce accidents. We hope the government will expedite the installation of this technology in Sarawak in particular.

It is a good government initiative if this technology can be implemented in Sarawak to help road users who have vision problems at night. It can prevent road accidents. I hope the government will implement this technology, especially in rural areas, to assist road users in their journeys.

Fading road markings are one of the causes of accidents, and this technology can help road users see road markings more clearly. Moreover, for rural areas, this technology is very much needed because not all areas have streetlights. Therefore, it is better to expedite the implementation of this technology in Sarawak.
