DALAT: The sixth series of the Keluarga Malaysia Sales Programme (PJKM) was held at the Nam Leong car park here recently from 10am to 4pm, and it received an encouraging response.

Even before the programme started, many had started lining up to buy goods at reasonable prices.

Deputy Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Sabah and Sarawak Affairs) and Mukah MP Datuk Hanifah Hajar Taib, accompanied by Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs Ministry (KPDNHEP) Sarawak chief enforcement officer Peter J. Berinus Agang, was present as well.

PJKM received support from the Dalat-Mukah District Council (MDDM), Dalat Information Department (JaPen), Federal Agricultural Marketing Authority (Fama) and Nam Leong Supermarket as the strategic partner.

Locals got to purchase goods, especially daily essentials such as sugar, flour, rice, cooking oil, processed food, eggs, vegetables and selected items, at cheaper prices compared to market prices.

Many who were there had requested that PJKM be organised regularly and they acknowledged that the programme could ease the financial burden of those from the low-income bracket.
