SIBU: Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) candidate for Sibu, Clarence Ting Ing Horh, arrived at the SMK Methodist voting centre here at 7.57 am to cast his ballot for the Lanang constituency, today (Nov 19).

Ting, the Sibu Municipal Council (SMC) chairman, was accompanied by his ailing mother Lilian Chian, 89, and son who also cast their ballots.

He completed voting at 8.12 am.

Later, he told New Sarawak Tribune that he was happy to have exercised his right as a voter and said he was not nervous about the outcome the results.

“I am not nervous, now it’s time to relax and wait for the results. I have done my best in the past few days.

“I didn’t change my polling centre, hence I cast my vote in Lanang. This is fairer as I don’t vote for myself,” he said.

On his plan today he said that he would go to all the polling centers to monitor the voting process.

For the SMK Methodist polling station, a total of 3,782 voters are expected to cast their ballots.

Earlier, voters were already seen queuing as early as 7 am. The majority were senior citizens.
