KUCHING: The people of Tinjar in Marudi have been urged to continue supporting the Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) government so that continuous development can be carried out.

Marudi assemblyman Datuk Dr Penguang Manggil had called upon Tinjar folk to unite under GPS and continue to be with him in the fight to bring more development in the area.

“Tinjar is far behind and there are still many things that need to be done here,” he said in a Facebook post last Sunday after visiting the Rh Duri Endu longhouse in Nanga Lait, Tinjar.

Penguang, who is also Progressive Democratic Party (PDP) vice president, announced a minor rural project (MRP) allocation of RM15,000 to the village security and development committee (JKKK) of Rh Duri Nanga Lait and another RM5,000 to its women’s bureau.

Also present were Beluru District Officer Alfred Geling, Marudi District Council chairman Edward Mendai, and other community leaders.
