KUCHING: Veteran journalist, Toman Mamora has been presented with the ‘Tokoh Media Sarawak 2022’ award.
Toman has more than three decades of experience in media and journalism.
He has won several awards over the years such as Shell Gold Journalism Award for Best Writer in 1997; Azam Best Writer’s Award in 1998; Ahli Bintang Sarawak (ABS) awarded by the Sarawak government in 1990; Pegawai Bintang Sarawak (PBS) awarded by Sarawak government in 1994; and Service Award (Bronze) awarded by the Sarawak government in conjunction with Sarawak’s 40th Independence Anniversary in 2003.
Toman’s exceptional achievement is testament of his various involvements in both the public and private sectors.
He is a media and editorial and social research consultant and has lectured in local universities such as Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (UNIMAS) and University College Sabah, Kota Kinabalu.
Besides that, Toman is a Chartered Member of World Editors Forum, Member of Malaysian Institute of Public Relations, Chartered Member of World Editors Forum and Member of British Institute of Management.
