KUCHING: The Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture has welcomed the recent move by the Ministry of Health (MoH) to abolish the filling up of the traveller’s card in the MySejahtera app for people entering Malaysia.
Minister Datuk Seri Nancy Shukri said the abolishment of the requirement, effective Aug 1, would see more tourist arrivals.
“Congratulations to the MoH for making it easier for travellers to enter Malaysia.
“This will attract more tourists to the country and will increase returns to the country’s tourism industry,” she said in a Facebook post.
She added that such a move would also motivate her ministry, through Tourism Malaysia, to further increase programmes to market Malaysia as a top tourist destination.
On Aug 1, the Sarawak Disaster Management Committee also said travellers entering Sarawak need not fill up the traveller’s card in the MySejahtera app.
