KAPIT: The Integrity and Ombudsman Unit of the Sarawak Premier Department held the 2022 Integrity Tour at the Kapit Malay Community Hall on Wednesday (June 22).

The programme was held to cultivate integrity in Sarawak society as well as to develop a society with high moral values.

According to the Deputy Minister in the Sarawak Premier Department (Integrity and Ombudsman), Datuk Murshid Diraja Dr Juanda Jaya, the role of community leaders is important to ensure transparency to guarantee the people receive what they need.

On the other hand, the target group requires more policymakers, such as staff and department heads, as well as Residents, district officers, Public Works Department, and other implementing agencies, particularly those involved in projects.

Meanwhile, Deputy Minister in the Sarawak Premier Department (Native Law and Customs) Jefferson Jamit Unyat said, civil servants should be honest, transparent and trustworthy in carrying out their duties.

He stressed that it is very important because society places high trust in civil servants.
