Enforcers take a close look at the gas cylinders.

KUCHING: A local man was arrested for trying to bribe the 11th General Operations Force battalion in a bid to stop them from taking action against him for possession of smuggled items.

The 31-year-old owner of a premises where the items were kept tried to bribe them with RM4,000.

The Battalion 11 head, Supt Rosdi Inai said at 12.45 pm Tuesday, while carrying out an operation against smuggling, they checked a building in Tebedu and found gas cylinders inside.

As they questioned the owner, he tried to bribe the GOF team.

The suspect failed to produce proper documents for exporting gas cylinders.

He said they believed that the gas cylinders were meant to be sold to Kalimantan.
