Trafficking probe following 5kg drug bust

MIRI: Police have seized over 5kgs of drugs which they believe were meant for distribution at entertainment premises here.

A local man was arrested by a team from the Narcotics Criminal Investigation Department (NCID) following the discovery of the Ecstasy drug worth RM102,600 in his hotel room on Monday night.

According to district deputy police chief Supt Mohd Sabri Zainol the 44-year-old man who was detained for trafficking drugs also tested positive for Syabu.

The suspect has been remanded for five days. Investigations are continuing.
