Trapped kitten rescued from ceiling

MIRI: An adorable eight-month old kitten was rescued after it became stuck in the ceiling of a house’s storeroom in Kampung Muhibbah Kuala Baram near here this morning.

A team of Miri Civil Defence Force (APM) were called to assist in this unusual rescue mission.

Miri Civil Defense force (APM) officer in-charge Captain (PA) Usman Harto said, a total four APM personnel were rushed to the location upon responding to an alert call

by a 62-year-old man regarding the trapped kitten.

When speaking to the rescuers, the man said he heard a strange and desperate meowing sound coming from the ceiling that morning.

“He was shocked when finding out that a kitten a kitten was trapped inside a small space in the ceiling and was not able to help. Worried about the safety of the little creature, he then called APM for help at 11.56am,” said Usman adding that the operation ended at 12.37pm.

Now the kitten is safe in the hands of its owner, Usman shared.
