BAU: Narcotic police here arrested three jobless men and seized drugs worth RM240 in separate locations on Sunday (Jan 16).

The operation codenamed ‘Ops Sarang’, saw two youths, aged 19 and 21, arrested in a raid at a house in Kampung Bogag, Jalan Serikin around 11.20am.

Bau OCPD DSP Poge Nyaon said the suspects were in an agitated state and attempted to divert their gaze elsewhere during inspections.

“Both of them handed over two plastic packets each containing crystalline lumps believed to be methamphetamine.

“Further inspections also found another plastic packet containing drugs on top of a wardrobe,” he said, adding that the drugs weighing 2.37g and worth RM240, were seized as evidence.

The duo were tested positive for drugs and will be investigated under Section 12(2) and Section 15(1)(a) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952.

Prior to the duo’s arrests, Bau narcotic police had arrested a 23-year-old man on suspicion of substance abuse around 10.30am.
