KUCHING: The Pakatan Harapan (PH) federal government has been asked sarcastically to appoint a second prime minister to discover what would happen when the country has two heads.

In doing this, Minister in the Chief Minister’s Office (Integrity and Ombudsman) Datuk Talib Zulpilip accused Putrajaya of playing dirty politics by intending to establish the Village Community Management Councils (MPKK) in Sarawak despite the existence of the Village Development and Security Committees (Jawatankuasa Kemajuan dan Keselamatan Kampung — JKKKs).

“The state government will always support any move that benefits our people, but the MPKK idea has no good intention. What if we wanted two prime ministers to lead the country? Would that be logical or reasonable?” he asked.

Talib who spoke to reporters after an event at Riverside Majestic Hotel on Monday (Sept 23), said PH should implement the MPKK in Malaya before trying to mess around with Sarawak.

“Don’t bring it to Sarawak if it is not yet implemented in Malaya,” he said.

Arguing out that the move would only confuse Sarawakians, the Jepak assemblyman accused Deputy Rural Development Minister R Sivarasa of being ignorant about Sarawak’s system of village administration.

“There has never been two Tuai Rumah (longhouse chiefs) in the same longhouse. Two leaders for one longhouse or village would create chaos.

“If he really understands Sarawak, the idea to have two community leaders in the same village or longhouse would never have entered his mind,” he said.
