KUCHING: The Kuching North City Commission (DBKU) is urging the public to switch off their lights at home for an hour in support of Earth Hour which will be observed worldwide tomorrow (March 25).

Yesterday (March 23), the city hall said the public should turn off their lights between 9.30pm to 10.30pm.

Doing so is a symbolic gesture in supports of concerns about global warming, climate change issues and energy conservation.

“It will also promote public awareness of reducing the use of electricity and conserving energy,” said the statement.

“Use the one hour to be with your family or do charity, especially since this celebration falls during Ramadan,” said the statement.
