KUALA NERUS: Terengganu FC (TFC) head coach Tomislav Steinbruckner was much pleased with his men after the Turtles recorded their third consecutive win at home last night.

Steinbruckner said the success was also very valuable as it allowed the team rise up from sixth place to fifth in the Super League this season.

He said that although there were still some weaknesses such as poor finishing, the performance of the players was seen to be improving, including their 2-0 victory  against Kuching City FC at the Sultan Mizan Zainal Abidin Stadium (SSMZA) here last night.

“It’s our third win in a row and I am satisfied how we played today (last night). We created so many chances and managed to score two goals.

“Maybe we missed many points from the early matches, but it’s okay because now we are better and in 5th place in the Super League,” he told the post-match press conference.

Both of TFC’s goals were scored by import striker Jordan Mintah.

Meanwhile, Kuching City FC coach Irfan Bakti Abu Salim said lapses in concentration and silly mistakes by his players were factors in his team’s defeat last night.

However, he admitted that he has not given up hope and will improve the weakness of the team who are currently ranked 12th out of 14 teams in the Super League.

“Terengganu tonight did not perform as well as in their previous game, but they still won because our players were complacent and continued to make simple mistakes that caused us to be punished.

“But I believe we can still make a comeback before the second round of the Super League. God willing we will fix the existing weaknesses,” he said. – BERNAMA
