KUCHING: The festive aura of the Chinese New Year (CNY) is set to sparkle with a captivating array of programmes on TVS, showcasing local talents.
Two telemovies are set to catch the attention of viewers, starting with ‘Lunar New Year Eve’ on Feb 9 at 9.15 pm, followed by ‘Zombie Fatt Cai’ the next day at 8.45 pm.
A six-episode drama titled Wedding Stone, promising its own uniqueness, will also premiere on Feb 14 at 9.30 pm.
Meanwhile, the talk show ‘The Year of the Dragon 2024’ will air four episodes from Feb 9 to 12 at 6.15 pm.
TVS deputy executive chairman and CEO Kushairi Abang stressed that the programmes aim not only to celebrate CNY but also to promote local talent effectively.
Kushairi highlighted TVS’s commitment to reduce reliance on foreign content by empowering local productions, in line with its policy of having 60 per cent local content.
“We see the importance of these CNY programmes in promoting our local talent and content,” he said during the TVS CNY Media Junket at the Star on Stage last night (Feb 7).
In conjunction with the CNY celebration, TVS also presents the music video ‘Blooming Spring,’ featuring local faces and talents.
The local TV station is prepared to stand by its devoted audience throughout the Year of the Dragon with a wide range of programmes that bring communities together, airing on Channel 122 on Astro, MYTV, and Unifi TV.
