Two armed robbers nabbed

KUCHING: Police have arrested two of the three suspects who allegedly robbed a man of his motorcycle and personal belongings worth RM15,000 with weapons last Saturday (Apr 3).

The incident happened around 2am when the victim, a labourer working on remodelling a house in Taman Juta Ria, Jalan Matang, was asleep in the house (that he was remodelling).

In the incident, three unknown men came to the house and knocked on the door. As he opened door, the three men barged in and one of them held a machete to the victim’s neck while his accomplices went through the victim’s belongings.

The suspects then fled the scene with the victim’s motorcycle and his personal documents, a wall drilling machine and a phone, valued around RM15,000.

Padawan OCPD Supt Aidil Bolhassan who confirmed the case, said the victim was unharmed and he immediately lodged a police report.

A CID team managed to arrest two of three suspects in a house at Taman Sri Makmur, Jalan Matang around 1.15pm (on the same day) and seized a motorcycle, a set of keys and a phone.

“Both suspects aged 22 and 25, who have several past records, admitted to committing the crime with another man who is still at large.

“They were taken to Padawan NCID office for urine tests and will be remanded for further investigations,” he said.

The victim’s motorcycle was later found and recovered at Jalan Batu 6.

Aidil said the police were on the hunt for the third suspect. The case is being investigated under Section 395/397 of the Penal Code.
