KUCHING: Narcotics police arrested two local men and seized various drugs worth RM37,250 in separate operations earlier this week.

Kuching police chief ACP Ahsmon Bajah said the seized drugs comprised 850.28g of Erimin 5 pills and 5.93g of syabu.

On Monday (Feb 5), the Sarawak Narcotics Criminal Investigation Department (NCID) arrested a 39-year-old man following raids on a vehicle at Jalan Rock and a residence in Batu Kawa around 9.45 pm.

“During searches, the team managed to find 830.60g of suspected Erimin 5 pills, with an estimated value of RM35,300.

“The suspect, with no prior record and tested negative for drugs, will be remanded for five days until Feb 11 to facilitate investigations under Section 39B of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952,” he said.

The following day (Feb 6), the Kuching NCID conducted an operation at Taman Sukma, leading to the arrest of a 43-year-old man around 3pm.

Ahsmon said the police seized 5.93g of suspected syabu drugs and 19.68g of suspected Erimin 5 pills from the suspect, all of which are valued around RM1,950.

The suspect, who tested positive for amphetamine and methamphetamine, had three prior drug-related records.

He will be remanded for two days until Feb 9 to facilitate investigations under Section 39A(1) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952.

The syabu and Erimin 5 pills worth RM1,950 seized on Tuesday.
