BINTULU: Two local men were arrest by the police for involving with drug abuse activities and for the possession of drugs.
In one of the cases, a 40-year-old local man was apprehended by police on December 21 (Wednesday) for the distribution and abuse of illegal substances at Paragon Bintulu area.
District police chief Supt Batholomew Umpit stated that the patrol found 5.2 grammes of packets containing drugs on the suspect.
“The suspect was tested positive for methamphetamine and amphetamine in an urine test. He was then detained by police and conducted further investigation on him,” he said.
In a separate case, a 39-year-old local man was also detained by police for involving in drug abuse activity at Jalan Abang Galau on Dec 22.
Batholomew also added that packets of drugs were found on the suspect, weighing 5.3 grammes. The suspect was tested positive for methamphetamine and amphetamine.
Both suspects were detained under Section 39A (1) and also Section 15(1)a of the Dangerous Drug Act 1952.
Batholomew reminded the public to stay vigilant and report to police immediately of any criminal and drug activities that are happening in Bintulu, said a PDRM Bintulu Facebook post.
