BAU: Two business owners were slapped with a compound of RM1,000 each after they were found to be in violation of the standard operating procedures (SOPs) while operating their business here.

It was understood that an enforcement team conducted an observation and raid on a coffee shop and a shop.

Bau district police chief DSP Poge Nyaon stated that both premises were compounded following an observation by the team from 3.45pm until 4pm.

“Both premises did not comply with the SOP requirements of social distancing; recording of temperature and customer’s personal details; having a temperature scanner and preparing hand sanitisers for customers’ use.

“The premises owners, aged 27 and 59 years old, were then brought to Bau district police headquarters (IPD),” he said in a statement.

Poge also noted that the owners pleaded guilty and agreed to pay the compound within 14 days until July 2.

The case is being investigated under Regulation 3 of the Prevention of Infectious Diseases (Measures Within the Infected Local Area) (No.10) 2020.
