MIRI: Two local men from Kampung Piasau Utara were detained by police last Saturday (November 28), after they allegedly stole cash amounting to RM17,000 from a shop selling frozen meat in Krokop Lorong 10, about a week ago.
Both suspects aged 32 and 35 were picked up from two separate houses in Kampung Piasau Utara during an operations dubbed Ops Pintu carried out by police from 12.20pm to 1.40pm.
Also seized was a motorcycle belonging to one of the suspects which was bought not long after the burglary occurred.
Police is currently looking for two other suspects.
The break-in of the premises was reported at 4.50am on Nov 21.
The premises’ store manager noticed a drawer, which was used to store the cash, was left open with the money missing.
The case is being investigated under Section 457 of the Penal Code for house breaking.
