KAPIT: Two men were arrested for alleged possession of two shotguns in an unnumbered house at KM 5, Jalan Bukit Goram, Sungai Pelajau here last Thursday (Oct 22).

Kapit district police chief DSP Freddy Bian Stanislaus said the two suspects aged 46 and 50, were arrested during a raid on the premises at 8pm.

He explained that further inspection led the police to find two shotguns and six 12-bore bullets in the house.

“A police team from the district crime investigation division (CID) confiscated the two shotguns and six live ammunitions and the same time brought both suspects to the police station for further actions,” he said in a statement.

Both suspects will be remanded and investigated under Section 8 (a) of the Firearms Act 1960 for suspected possession of a shotgun without licence, Freddy explained.
