MIRI: Two food delivery men were arrested for possessing drugs worth RM40,000 in separate incidents on Wednesday (Aug 19).

District police chief ACP Lim Meng Seah said the first arrest took place around 2.45pm when anti-narcotics police arrested a delivery man in front of a condominium at Jalan Tanjong Lobang.

Following the arrest and information obtained from th suspect, police arrested another delivery man around 4pm at Jalan Chia Tze Chin.

“The arrests led to the seizure of five plastic packets containing crystalline drugs suspected to be methamphetamine weighing about 1,010g and worth RM40,000. Also seized were five thermos bottles and three smartphones,” Lim said in a statement.

He said the two men did not have previous criminal records.

They will be remanded to facilitate investigations.

The case is being investigated under Section 39B of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952.
