Two held in raid on stalls

BAU: Police arrested a man and a woman for suspected involvement in gaming activities at Kampung Srieng, Jalan Bau-Serikin last Monday (June 27).

Bau police chief DSP Poge Nyaon in a statement, said they were arrested in ‘Op Dadu’ raids carried out at ‘Gerai Tani Jagoi’ from 3.30pm.

“The woman was arrested for engaging in illegal lottery sales and the man for operating an online gambling sales activity,” he said.

Also seized from the suspects were two phones, a SIM card and a sum of cash.

Poge said the suspects aged 22 and 26, were taken to the police station for further action.

Investigations are continuing.
