MIRI: Two men were arrested after allegedly breaking in into a house at Senadin Village here on September 19.

Both suspects in their mid twenties were detained in two separate houses in Tudan by a team of Criminal Investigation Department (JSJ) of the District Police Headquarters at about 3.30pm yesterday.

In the incident, a 49-year-old man lodged a police report after his house was believed broken into by thieves.

The man, a contract employee, found his house was broken into after returning from work at 5.35pm. He later found out that a television set was lost and believed to be taken by the thief or thieves who were belived to have gotten into the house by breaking the front house windows.

Based on investigation by looking at the CCTV recording at the victim’s house,  two men climbed a fence before breaking into the house and took away one television set.

Meanwhile, deputy local police chief, Supt. Stanley Jonathan Ringgit when contacted confirmed the arrest of the two suspects.

“The two suspects were detained for further investigation and the case is investigated under Section 457 of the Penal Code,” he said.
