KOTA SAMARAHAN: Two foreign construction workers were killed after a concrete drain wall collapsed at a project site of Lorong Samarindah 14B today.

A spokesman for the Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) said that firefighters from Kota Samarahan station were dispatched to the scene, about 20km away, after receiving an emergency call at 11.25 am.

Upon arrival, they discovered that the victims have been crushed by a five-foot-high concrete drain wall.

Extrication works were performed with other construction workers assisting using an excavator to facilitate the rescue works.

Unfortunately, both victims were pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics and their bodies were handed over to the police for further actions.

The deceased were identified as 29-year-old Tadi and 42-year-old Mustakim, both from Indonesia.

The operation concluded at 1pm.
