MIRI: Two people sustained injuries when their car slammed into the rear of a lorry on Thursday morning.

It was believed that prior to the crash, the two victims were travelling in a Proton Isawara heading towards town from Kuala Baram.

Both the car’s driver and passenger have been rushed to Miri Hospital. It was not immediately known how the crash happened.

Upon arriving at the scene, a fireman immediately checks on the injured driver.

A team of Lopeng firemen who happened to be nearby fighting bushfires were immediately mobilised to the scene of the crash after responding to an alert at 11.12am.

Initially, it was reported that both the car’s driver and passenger were trapped in their seats.

Other road users who happened to pass by the crash scene immediately helped to remove them.

Following the crash, the front of the car has been badly damaged.
