SIBU: A lorry driver was trapped in the driver’s seat after two lorries collided with each other at Mile 13 near SJK Nang Ming on Sunday (Sept 27).

The Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) operations centre received a distress call at 2.43pm and deployed firefighters from Sungai Merah fire station to the scene.

Upon arrival, operations commander Joseph Balon said that the collision involved a three-tonne lorry and a five-tonne lorry; each travelling in opposite direction.

As a result, the driver of the three-tonne lorry sustained injuries to his right leg and was found trapped in the seat.

Firefighters successfully extricated the victim at 3.28pm, who was then handed over to the emergency medical rescue service (EMRS) unit for immediate treatment.
