Two men held for drugs

The plastic packets containing crystalline drugs seized from the two men on Tuesday (Aug 25).

BAU: Two self-employed men were nabbed separately in an unnumbered house at Kampung Grogo, Jalan Bau-Lundu for possessing drugs on Tuesday (Aug 25).

District police chief DSP Poge Nyaon said the raiding operation was carried out by a team of Bau narcotic police around 12.45pm.

The team raided the house and found two men aged 22 and 27 separately, and conducted inspections on them.

“The first inspection resulted in finding a plastic packet containing crystalline drugs weighing 0.32g with a street value of RM30, in the back pocket of the man’s shorts.

“Pertaining to the inspection on the second man, the police also found a plastic packet containing crystalline drugs weighing 0.62g with a value of RM60, in the front pocket of his shorts,” he said in a statement.

Poge added that the men who each had past criminal record, were both tested positive for drugs.

Both detainees will be charged separately under Section 12(2) and Section 15(1)(a) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952, he said.

Remand applications for both individuals will be applied in court today (Wednesday Aug 26).
