KUCHING: Police have arrested two men suspected of being involved in substance abuse and drug possession in a rented room at Mile 7 Market, Kota Sentosa.

Padawan OCPD Supt Aidil Bolhassan said that the arrests of two individuals aged 26 and 34 took place around 3pm yesterday.

“A team of personnel from Padawan Narcotics Criminal Investigation Division (NCID) raided a room above a stationery shop, and found the men who were sitting cross-legged on the floor.

“We inspected the men and found three transparent plastic packets containing a crystalline substance believed to be syabu with an estimated weight of 6.0 grammes,” he said in a statement.

He noted that both men and the drugs were brought to Padawan NCID headquarters for further action.

“During questioning, one of them admitted to have bought the drugs via bank-in transactions and later sold to buyers around Mile 7 town,” he said, adding that both individuals had past records under the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952.
