KUCHING: Two more Sarawak Poor Home Improvement Projects (PPRMS) for the Tanjong Datu constituency have been completed in Kampung Bruan Sampadi Lundu.

Tanjung Datu assemblywoman Datuk Amar Jamilah Anu in revealing this said the state government is committed to ensuring that the less fortunate — single mothers, Muslim converts and asnaf — have proper homes.

“It is also an initiative of the Sarawak government to always take care of the poor,” she said when handing over completed PPRMS projects to homeowners on Saturday (April 17).

For homeowner and PPRMS recipient, Nilam Bagong, she was grateful that the state government had assigned some people to repair her walls, floor, windows and doors.

The total cost of repairing her home was RM14,870.

“I am very touched and thankful to the Tanjong Datu assemblywoman and the Sarawak government.

“I never dreamt that my house would be repaired and to finally have a concrete house to live in,” she said.

For the second recipient, Adot Tajil, she had her roof, walls, floor and windows repaired at a cost of RM12,068.

Also present during the handover were Tanjung Datu Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) Women chief Datuk Seri Fatimah Abdullah and Youth chief Azizul Annuar Adenan.
