Two new clusters in Limbang

KUCHING: The State Health Department has declared two new Covid-19 clusters in Limbang today (Sep 1).

Sarawak Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) said the first cluster, dubbed the Menuang Baru, Limbang, is a community cluster at Rumah Manggi Kamoung Menuang Baru, Jalan Tedungan, Limbang.

“The cluster has 70 positive cases including the index case out of 174 people screened, 104 negative cases, while 31 cases are new as reported today,” it said.

SDMC said the second cluster is a workplace cluster at Sebayang-Stalun where there are 16 positive cases including the index case out of 21 people screened.

“The cluster is at the construction site of the Sabah-Sarawak Gaseline (SSGP) channel construction project at Camp 4, Stalun Fly Camp and Sebayang Camp in Long Rayeh,” it said.

All positive cases were admitted to nearby hospitals and low-risk treatment centres in their respective districts

The committee also announced the end of two clusters, namely the Duyoh Cluster in Bau and the Kampung Pueh Cluster after no new cases were recorded in the past 28 days.

Apart from that, SDMC also said 13 out of the 131 active clusters in the state recorded a total of 234 new cases.

The committee added that Lawas is now an orange zone after 35 positive cases were recorded in the district within the past 14 days.

The state currently has 30 red districts, three orange zones, six yellow zones and only one is still green zone.
