MIRI: Two people managed to escape a fire that destroyed a house in Jalan Tanjung Batu A1, Kampung Padang Kerbau here.
According to the Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba), a call regarding the fire was received at around 10.17pm, last night.
Firefighters from Lopeng Bomba were dispatched to the location and they proceeded to put out the fire.
“The operation commander reported that two individuals managed to escape the burning house.
“One of them suffered burns to the hand and the right side of the forehead.
“The individual was sent to the hospital to receive further treatment.”
The operation took almost three hours and ended at 12.52am, with the house suffering 85 per cent damage to its structure.
Authorities are still determining the cause of the fire and the losses incurred.
