KUCHING: The government has agreed to set up a vaccination centre (PPV) at the Tanjung Embang Health Clinic in Demak Laut constituency.

Its assemblyman Dr Hazland Abang Hipni added that another PPV has also been agreed to be set up at the Bako Health Clinic.

“In ensuring that 80 percent of Sarawakians are vaccinated to achieve herd immunity by August, the government has agreed to set up the two PPVs in the constituency,” he said in a Facebook post on Monday (June 21).

He said the Bako Health Clinic and Tanjung Embang Health Clinic are targeting to vaccinate 6,000 residents in Bako and Tanjung Embang.

“As many as 498 people have already been vaccinated at the Tanjung Embang Health Clinic last Sunday,” he said.

He said those who received the vaccine are from Kampung Beradek, Tiang Api, Semilang, Beradek Cina, Bilong, Tanju and Sungai Pinang.

“Last Friday, a total of 120 were vaccinated at the Bako Health Clinic which started from the Kampung Bako Hilir area,” he said.
