KUALA LUMPUR: A total of 15 journalists from various Malaysian news agencies are participating in the Malaysia-Indonesia Friendship Association (ISWAMI) Serumpun Trail Programme in Jakarta starting Monday until Feb 21.

It is aimed at exposing Malaysian journalists to the process of the Indonesian Presidential Election on Feb 14 and the Indonesian National Press Day scheduled for Feb 20.

ISWAMI Malaysia president, Ashwad Ismail, said the programme would provide exposure to the democratic electoral process and also build camaraderie with Indonesian journalists.

He said the journalists will also be exposed to the vibrancy of the green technology sector, sustainability and digital economy in the neighbouring country.

The Serumpun Trail Programme is sponsored by Berjaya Corporation Berhad, Green Growth Asia Foundation and VFive Group.

ISWAMI is a Malaysian-Indonesian journalists’ forum that was established in 2003 as a bridge to foster media relations between Malaysia and Indonesia.
