PADAWAN: Two teenagers performing dangerous ‘superman’ stunts while riding recklessly at Jalan FAC Matang, were arrested in an operation codenamed ‘Ops Samseng Jalanan’ on Sept 16.

District police chief Supt Aidil Bolhassan, who confirmed the case, said the operation led by ASP Kenny Charles Juta, took place from 5pm to 10pm on Wednesday.

“The team spotted the two teenagers riding their motorcycles recklessly and dangerously by performing ‘superman’ stunts.

“Both were arrested and brought to the Padawan police headquarters (IPD) for further investigation under Section 42 (1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.

“If convicted, the teens can face a jail term of up to five years and a fine up to RM15,000 for first offense,” he said.

In addition, a total of 15 traffic summonses were issued to riders for various offences.

Aidil pointed out that the operation was carried out to prevent illegal motorcycle or racing activities around the area.

He urged the public, especially parents, to always monitor their children’s activities when they used motorcycles.
