SIBU: University College of Technology Sarawak (UCTS) has received approval from the Covid-19 Immunisation Task Force (CITF) to operate as the district’s first industrial vaccination centre (PPV) starting from June 28.
Sibu District Disaster Management Committee (SDDMC) coordinator Dr Annuar Rapaee revealed this after monitoring the dry run of the vaccination process at the campus here on Wednesday (June 23).
The centre, he explained, would be led by Pansar Berhad which would collaborate with SEGi University Sibu clinical campus as its health staff provider.
Dr Annuar, who is also UCTS Board of Directors chairman, said the centre aimed to give 1,000 vaccine doses per day.
“It is estimated that about 14,000 private employees will be vaccinated at this PPV starting from Monday next week.
” I would like to express my appreciation to SEGi University Sibu and Pansar Berhad for their commitment in creating this industrial PPV in an effort to help the government speed up the vaccination process to achieve herd immunity,” added the Nangka assemblyman.
