UDA undertakes first project in Pending

KUCHING: UDA Holdings Berhad (UDA) has begun commencing sales launch for the development of Neu Pendington, which will begin in the third quarter of 2024.

The integrated serviced apartment and commercial space development project, Neu Pendington is located in Pending.

It has obtained building plan approval for the serviced apartments “Tower A” (Phase 1A) and commercial units (Phase 1B) from the Kuching South City Council (MBKS).

Currently, UDA is in the process of obtaining approval for the Advertising and Building Development Permit (APDL) through the Ministry of Public Health, Housing, and Local Government and is expected to receive approval in July of this year.

During the company’s recent Ramah Tamah Aidilfitri ceremony, president/ chief executive officer, Datuk Mohd. Salem Kailany said the development of Neu Pendington offered a conducive residence alongside creating a harmonious living environment and thereby contribute to the well-being of the community and local residents.

“It also aligns with UDA’s branding concept; LIFE, which stands for ‘Legacy,’ ‘Integrated,’ ‘Finesse,’ and ‘Enrich.’

“The final phase involves the development of a 12-storey hotel (Phase 3B) that will complete the entire Neu Pendington development,” he said.

He added that UDA was committed to shouldering the responsibility together with the relevant ministry to empower entrepreneurs and make Malaysia a leading entrepreneurial nation.

UDA collaborates closely with the Sarawak Economic Development Corporation (SEDC) in the development of Neu Pendington.

The upcoming development project also provides 30 commercial units located in Pending for (Phase 1B) and another 235 commercial units (Phase 2).

“This development is among UDA’s efforts to encourage local entrepreneurs, especially micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs), to further develop their businesses by placing them in UDA’s conducive commercial spaces to nurture resilient and competitive entrepreneurs in entrepreneurial activities,” he added.

He also stated that UDA’s plan was to develop urban areas, thus expanding business opportunities in the Land of the Hornbills.

In addition, UDA also explores prospective developments in Sarawak and strategic collaboration opportunities in Bintulu and Kota Samarahan for future expansion.
