BETONG: Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas has announced a grant of RM60.4 million to implement projects in Spaoh.

According to him, the grant comes from the Betong Division Development Agency’s (BDDA) allocation of RM200 million for Bukit Saban.

“The projects include RM30 million for farm roads, RM10 million to build cow and goat sheds, pig sites, and chicken coops, and RM18 million for a collection, processing and packaging centre (CPPC) near Bebuling STOLport.

“Others are for a ‘taman selera’ (food shops) near the new Spaoh market facing the Paku River (RM2 million) and a futsal field (RM450,000),” he said during Bukit Saban’s Gawai Ngiling Tikai programme held at the community hall here today (June 25)

He said 10 units of commercial buildings will be built near the Spaoh Bridge as part of the town’s expansion.

Uggah who is also Bukit Saban assemblyman stated that all these projects would create income generating economic opportunities to help the people upgrade their standard of living.
