Uggah, Sim and Rundi not infected

KUCHING: Deputy Chief Minister Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas and two state ministers have tested negative for Covid-19.

The ministers are Local Government and Housing Minister Datuk Seri Dr Sim Kui Hian and Utilities Minister Datuk Seri Dr Stephen Rundi Utom.

Dr Sim and Rundi were instructed to undergo self-quarantine after they attended a State Disaster Management Committee (JPBN) meeting on March 27. One of the participants later tested positive for Covid-19.

Uggah was placed under a 14-day self-quarantine after coming into contact with Transport Assistant Minister Datuk Dr Jerip Susil, who tested positive for Covid-19 on April 2.

Dr Jerip is currently undergoing treatment at Sarawak General Hospital (SGH). He contracted the virus through an individual who was in the Good News Fellowship Conference Church cluster.

Other state ministers were instructed to undergo self-quarantine were Deputy Chief Minister Datuk Amar Awang Tengah Ali Hasan and Welfare, Community Wellbeing, Women, Family and Childhood Development Minister Datuk Seri Fatimah Abdullah.

Their results had earlier returned negative for Covid-19 as well.
