
KUCHING: Ten students from Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM) whose homes were affected by the recent flood received a surprise visit from the university’s student affairs division on Wednesday.
In a bid to assist its students affected by the flood, UiTM’s students’ affairs division created a flood assistance programme dubbed UiTM Prihatin.
The programme’s mission was to bring the assistance and initiative to ease the burden from the flood directly to the students.
The university visited the homes of its students namely in Kampng Bintawa, Kampung Kudel, Kampung Tupong, Kampung Sungai Merah, Kampung Sungai Maong Kampung Sungai Bedil and Taman Malihah.
Led by student affair division deputy rector, Prof Madya Dr Mohammad Isa Mohamadin and his team, the university donated RM200 worth of food supplies to the students they had visited during the programme.
UiTM Prihatin is an initiative in collaboration with Yayasan Pembangunan Islam Malaysia (YaPeim) and JOBN UiTM Sarawak.
