KUCHING: A nine-member delegation from Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM) Sarawak yesterday paid a courtesy call on Education, Science and Technological Research Minister Datuk Seri Michael Manyin at his office at Baitulmakmur Complex here.

The delegation was led by Deputy Rector of Academic and International Affairs Associate Professor Firdaus Abdullah.

The purpose of the visit was for the delegates to hand over a book on the research the university had done among secondary school students in Sarawak on teenage violence risk factors entitled “Self Value Measurement Index (I-KEN)”.

The research was funded by the Education, Science, and Technological Research Ministry.

Research management unit coordinator Dr Azilawati Banchit headed the research team, which consisted of UiTM lecturers, namely Puteri Faida Alya Zainuddin, Chen Chee Khium and a lecturer from Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (Unimas) Dr Merikan Aren.

During the courtesy call, Firdaus also presented a  letter to Manyin, inviting him to be the guest of honour at the 2nd International Conference on Computer and Drone Applications (IConDA) 2019.The conference  will be held here from Dec 19-21.
The conference provides a platform for local and international scientists and academicians to discuss computer and drone technology.
