KUCHING: The International Council for Education Media (ICEM) Conference 2023 serves as a catalyst for new ideas, for ground-breaking research and for transformative collaboration.

The annual conference hosted by Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM) Sarawak Branch together with ICEM is themed ‘Digital Ecosystem of Educational Media and Technology: Linking Global and Local Dimensions’ this year.

UiTM Sarawak Branch rector, Prof Datuk Dr Jamil Hamali said it underscores the imperatives of bridging divides, fostering collaboration, and ensuring that education remains relevant, accessible, and forward-looking.

“In UiTM Sarawak, we recognise that the future lies in collaborations between states and nations, between academicians and practitioners, and between policymakers and educators,” he said at the opening of ICEM 2023 here today (Sept 11).

“ICEM 2023, with its diverse array of participants, serves as a testament to the power of such collaborations.

“It is heartening to see scholars from different parts of the world coming together to share their research, insights, and visions. No doubt such exchanges not only enrich our collective understanding, paving the way for partnerships that transcend borders.”
