SADONG JAYA: UMW Holdings Berhad is committed to providing assistance to the community, including in Sarawak, through its corporate social responsibility (CSR) programme.
Group chairman Tan Sri Hamad Kama Piah Che Othman said they had also selected several locations to carry out its CSR and distribute zakat.
He was speaking to the media after the Ibadah Korban UMW Holdings Berhad at Kampung Semera near here on Tuesday (July 12).
He explained that they chose Kampung Semera due to the efforts of Batang Sadong MP Datuk Seri Nancy Shukri who hoped that UMW could provide assistance to the community here.
“We would like to thank her for giving us the opportunity to conduct the CSR here.
“Prior to this, we had also provided a hearse for the use of folk in the Batang Sadong parliamentary constituency.”
During the programme, UMW Holdings Berhad contributed three cows to be sacrificed and the meat distributed to the villagers in conjunction with Aidiladha.
